Barbara Davis Gallery is pleased to announce Paul Fleming’s solo-exhibition entitled Shambhala opening Friday, April 26, 2013 with an artist reception from 6:30-8:30PM.
Paul Fleming’s exhibition Shambhala consists of site-specific wall installations and new works that are created using Hydrocal plaster and pigmented resin. Fleming’s installations consist of countless singular objects that are cast in plaster and possess a common void that is filled with resin. The form of each element is inspired by a found object. The act of repetition is significant within Fleming’s work, as each element is multiplied to generate a pattern. Together, these elements transform the space, which is illustrated in Fleming’s installation titled All my friends are here. Universality and connectivity are a common thread within Shambhala, as each component is vital to the overall form.
Shambhala opens Friday, April 26, with an opening artist reception from 6:30-8:30PM. This exhibition is on view April 26, 2013 through May 25, 2013.
